Pink Eye Rodeo

I was at Lake Belton all last week fishing the BASS Federation State Championship. It was the first time I have been away from Dylan for more than a weekend. It is amazing to see how much he changed and how much more he was talking.

Dylan and Jody did come down on Wednesday and Thursday to watch weigh-in so I got to see them then. That was nice in the middle of some pretty miserable fishing.

Dylan has been sick since I got home Friday night and it seemed to be allergies, but Sunday his eyes were looking pretty bad and filling with goop. A trip to the doctor confirmed our fear, Dylan has Pink Eye. He is not even in school and he seems to pick up something once a month or so already.

With Pink Eye has come a baby that is not sleeping much, is very grouchy, and throws some pretty big fits. Dylan has always been the best medicine taker. That apparently ends with eye drops. It is quite amuzing, I am sure, to see Jody and I sitting in the floor holding him down, prying his eyes open to put 3 drops in each eye. The even funnier picture is Jody doing it when I was at work today. From her account, she had him on the floor and was kneeling over him, holding his flapping arms to his side with her legs and trying to get the drops in his eyes while his head was spinning about. It is quite the event.

Cereal Bar Momma

Dylan seems to be thinking about one thing and one thing only when he wakes up in the morning. That would be what ever he is hungry for. The last two mornings it has been cereal bars, even though we have none.

He wakes up and sits in his bed and calmly repeats, "Cereal bar Momma", "Cereal bar Momma", "Cereal bar Momma", over and over again.

I wonder how many times he would say it if we just let him go on and on and on.

Cody has been visiting us this week during his spring break, I think Dylan has had fun having someone else here to entertain him. We will just have to re-train Dylan not to say Sic-em Bears after Cody leaves.

The Zoo for Myka's 2nd Birthday Party

Dylan really liked feeding the animals at the zoo.

Wow, Blogging is addictive...

Well, in almost two years, Jody has updated the Dylan blog . . . well, she hasn't. That doesn't mean that there was nothing note worthy during that time. It does mean that she has been very busy chasing little Dylan. Turns out blogging isn't her thing and who could blame her. I am on my first post and I am becoming annoyed by it already. Truthfully, Jody spends about every moment that Dylan is awake playing with him, teaching him new things, and helping him become a smart little boy. The other time when Dylan is sleeping, she is working from home 15 - 20 hours per week and picking up after him and taking care of me. She has been a great mother.

Dylan, who this blog is supposed to be about, is growing up before our eyes. Today he learned to boastfully say, "I DO IT" after he restarted his favorite video on the laptop. Seems their is an increasing amount of I, and MY, and ME coming from his mouth in the last week. He is becoming very self reliant, in his eyes anyway.

We visited Myka, Becky and Jimmy this weekend for Myka's 2nd Birthday Party. It is hard to believe Myka is 2 and Dylan is just about there. They will be great friends or, in Myka's eyes, sparring partners. She is a woman that knows what she wants, and no one is going to stand in her way. Even her little friend, Dylan. Dylan loved the zoo and we all had a great time.
